What if we all took 9 magical minutes for ourselves every day?
- 9 minutes to shower first thing
- 9 minutes to do your makeup or whatever makes you feel beautiful and ready to tackle your day
- 9 minutes to really savor your tea or coffee, instead of gulp it down
- 9 minutes to walk or work out
- 9 minutes for not your everyday housework, but magical cleaning
- 9 minutes to bond with nature
- 9 minutes to plan for tomorrow
- 9 minutes to read before bed
In this current society it does not matter if you are a stay at home mom, work, go to school, or are just existing beautifully…we simply do not make time for ourselves. Many of the ideas I have listed above are the things we sometimes skip and are what really set us up for success.
Creating routines for magical cleaning can seem overwhelming at first. You might think it is going to take an hour to get out the door, maybe you are a snoozer and start the day an hour late already. Then working out, you think you have to drive there, spend an hour doing a routine you have been told is the only way to make progress, then you get back home and it feels like your morning, afternoon, evening is already gone. We gulp down morning beverages as if adorning armor and going to battle against the day. As women, we are especially good at never feeling enough, I know for myself it is always I don’t read enough and I absolutely dread my calendar, so as a result life sneaks up on me regularly.
Maybe you are a rockstar and do half of these things or all of them already, but do not have a magical cleaning routine.Maybe you are still a rockstar like myself and all of the above are reasons you are exhausted, stressed, anxious, and barely make it to the next day. If you are like me, you might be asking yourself how you can possibly make time. That is where 9 magical minutes comes into place!
Why 9 minutes? Throughout history and across many cultures, faiths, etc. the number 9 is huge and very much so a magical number. As humans we also have a tendency to complicate things or make them bigger than they need to be, so 9 minutes is a great time frame to accomplish something no matter how much time you have. YOU CAN DO ANYTHING FOR 9 MINUTES!
One last note. Many of us have past wounds related to cleaning that need healed. For some of us if we keep the dishes clean and have something that smells good enough to wear, that is where cleaning ends. It is possible that nothing you cleaned as a kid was ever good enough, or as an adult you decided there were more important things in life but don’t realize how much the state of your home is harming your health, or when you think of cleaning you come up with mile long to do lists and who has time for that?! 9 magical minutes for cleaning can be done once daily or multiple times throughout the day, you get to choose, but I don’t want you to count whatever your baseline for current cleaning routines are. I want you to take your 9 magical minutes and put that laundry you always leave in the basket away, really shine and bless your sink, tackle that desk everyone piles their stuff on etc., you get the idea. Nature is important in your magical cleaning too, so I really encourage you to take 9 minutes to ground, use cleaning products that do not harm the earth or make your own and practice thanking the herbs, vinegar, or other elements that you use.
How will you use 9 magical minutes to live your best life?
