I know time is a subject on our mind a lot as a society. Most of us feel like there is too little, some of us have more than what we know what to do with, and then some of us find ourselves like a fish out of water during this unique time we are facing.

I have been on both swings of the time spectrum. I have had every minute of my waking hour filled, I have tried just being a stay at home mom very briefly, and then I’ve worked very part time. What I have learned is that I seldom have time for the things I love in any of the above scenarios. Having too much time is always overwhelming, there are so many things going on in my mind that I struggled to focus on one thing to do. Having too little time presents challenges around energy. Having been in the middle, oftentimes I would prioritize things all wrong and find myself still over committing to things that did not bring me joy.

While being a mom of 5 is no easy feat and presents some of my challenges, I am sure there are other people without any children who can totally relate to the above.

I had no structure because structure and me are like enemies. I see a fully scheduled and structured week,a plan, then proceed to have an anxiety attack and eventually burn it all to the ground. However, without structure, I don’t know what to do next…there are too many choices.

So, I have to take time out of the equation. THIS IS ABOUT MINDSET.

Not only is this about mindset, but this is about coming somewhat close to balance. No one has perfect balance and striving for it can drive the best of us mad. You have to have some structure, but maybe a little bit of freedom to choose as well.

Next, this is about making a choice to focus. I have to have a schedule and it has to be filled with things that are going to get me closer to doing what I want to do. Right now, I want to have more time to be working outdoors on my house and foraging. I can’t do those things if my brain is overwhelmed with a to do list in the background.

This is where magical cleaning routines come in. I spend a majority of my time in my home and if it is full of chaos, clutter, and a never ending list of things I am putting off…then my mind is always running on overload. I would constantly tell myself all these reasons that I couldn’t do what I wanted to do. The answer is not to neglect that inside voice, that higher self screaming out to you. The answer is to establish some daily rituals that allow you to keep the energetic flow clean and clear in your home, most days with an hour or less of a commitment!

If this sounds like you, grab a copy of my magical cleaning checklist for every turn of the wheel and get your home energetically aligned. Know that it may take you a day, a week, or a month depending on how you have to tackle the checklist. However, once you complete this checklist, know that you can create simple daily rituals to maintain it, keep your magic flowing, and have the freedom to do what you truly want with your time!
